What is Seed?
The number that sets the random starting point of an AI image. Same prompt + same seed gives (nearly) the same image.
Because image models start from random noise, each generation is different. The seed fixes that randomness, so you can reproduce a result or make controlled variations by changing just one part of the prompt.
Chat-style tools often hide the seed; dedicated image tools usually let you set it. Note it down whenever you get a result you love.
Seeds matter most when you need consistency: a set of wedding album images with the same mood, product shots for a catalogue, or a character who should look alike across a comic. If your tool has no seed setting, re-using the same uploaded reference image and the same base prompt gets you part of the way.
Workflow
Generate 4 options, pick the best, lock its seed, then tweak only the outfit colour to make a matching set for a carousel post.
