What is Fine-tuning?
Further training an existing AI model on a smaller, specific dataset so it gets better at one style or task.
A general model knows a little about everything. Fine-tuning teaches it a speciality — a brand's writing voice, a medical vocabulary, a particular art style — by training it further on examples of exactly that.
For most people, good prompts and examples inside the prompt get you 80% of the way without fine-tuning. Fine-tuning makes sense when you need the same specialised behaviour thousands of times.
