ComfyUI Comfy Agent Builds AI Workflows Automatically
ComfyUI’s new Comfy Agent can plan, build, run, inspect and modify workflows from a simple natural-language request.

ComfyUI is making its powerful node-based creative platform easier to use with the launch of Comfy Agent, an AI agent designed to build and manage workflows directly inside ComfyUI.
ComfyUI has become popular among AI image and video creators because it provides detailed control over models, nodes, prompts and generation pipelines. However, that flexibility can also make the platform difficult for beginners. Users often need to understand how different nodes work, how they should be connected and how models and parameters should be configured.
Comfy Agent aims to change that experience.
Instead of manually creating a workflow node by node, users can describe what they want in natural language. The agent can then plan the workflow, construct the required nodes, connect them, run the workflow, inspect the results and make modifications when necessary.
The basic process can be understood as:
Prompt → Agent builds workflow → Workflow runs → Inspect results → Modify → Final output
For example, a creator could ask the agent to take a product image and create multiple advertising variations in different aspect ratios. Rather than manually constructing the entire workflow, the agent can help assemble the required pipeline and execute it.
This is an important change because ComfyUI is moving from being only a visual workflow editor toward becoming an agent-assisted creative environment.
The agent can work with the actual workflow graph, meaning creators can inspect the nodes and connections rather than receiving only a final image or video. This gives users the ability to understand, edit and refine what the AI has created.
Another useful capability is Agent Skills. These can provide reusable instructions that help the agent follow specific procedures or creative workflows repeatedly. For experienced users, this could make it easier to standardize production processes instead of rebuilding the same instructions every time.
The development could be particularly useful for AI image and video creators. Complex production tasks often involve multiple models, preprocessing steps, generation stages and post-processing operations. An agent that can coordinate these components could significantly reduce repetitive setup work.
However, Comfy Agent does not completely remove the need for human creativity or technical knowledge. Users may still want to inspect workflows, adjust parameters and decide whether the generated result actually meets their creative requirements.
The bigger shift is from manually building every AI workflow to describing the desired creative outcome and allowing an AI agent to construct the technical pipeline.
The old approach was:
Learn nodes → build workflow → connect everything → run → troubleshoot
The new approach is closer to:
Describe the goal → AI builds the workflow → inspect → refine → create
As AI agents become better at understanding complex creative tasks, tools such as Comfy Agent could make advanced image and video workflows accessible to a much wider audience.
