Indian AI Agents Enter Real Financial Workflows

🇮🇳 Indian AI agents are moving into financial workflows

Indian fintech company CreditNirvana, a Perfios company, has launched ORCA and CognifAI Assist, an AI suite designed to automate parts of the lending and debt-collection lifecycle.

The announcement, made on October 6, 2026, combines two different AI capabilities. CognifAI Assist focuses on the customer side, using voice assistance and visual co-browsing to guide borrowers through digital lending, onboarding and servicing processes. ORCA focuses on collections, using more than 200 specialised AI agents to determine and execute account-level collection strategies. PR Newswire

The interesting part is that these systems are designed to do more than answer questions.

A simplified workflow looks like this:

Customer → Voice AI → Co-browsing → Understand situation → Decide next action → Execute → Human support when needed

ORCA can coordinate collection activities across digital channels, voice, calling, field operations and legal touchpoints. CreditNirvana says lenders define recovery objectives and compliance constraints, while the AI determines the next action within those guardrails. PR Newswire

The company claims the platform can deliver 40% lower collection costs, 30% higher connect rates and 60–70% of collection journeys completed autonomously. These are company-reported claims, rather than independently verified industry results. PR Newswire

CognifAI Assist also adds visual co-browsing, allowing an AI voice assistant to guide customers through screens and help with processes such as loan servicing and onboarding. The company says it can work as an overlay on existing portals and applications, reducing the need for major core-system changes. PR Newswire

This launch is another example of the shift from AI chatbot → AI assistant → AI agent → autonomous workflow.

For India's financial sector, the important question is no longer just whether AI can communicate with customers. It is whether AI can safely understand context, make decisions, take actions and escalate to humans when necessary.

CreditNirvana's launch shows that this transition is already being applied to a high-volume financial workflow: debt collection.
