GPT-6 Brings Interactive UI to ChatGPT

OpenAI has started rolling out GPT-6 globally in ChatGPT, and the biggest change is not simply that the model is smarter. GPT-6 introduces a new capability called Intelligent UI, allowing ChatGPT to combine normal text answers with interactive interfaces, visuals and tools directly inside a conversation.

OpenAI says GPT-6 can generate interfaces containing elements such as charts, buttons, forms, graphics and interactive experiences depending on what the user is asking. Instead of giving every question the same text-based response, ChatGPT can decide when an interactive experience would be more useful.

For example, imagine asking:

“Build me a ₹10,000 per month savings calculator.”

Instead of simply explaining the mathematics, ChatGPT can create a calculator that lets the user change inputs and explore the result. OpenAI also gives examples such as bill-splitting tools, retirement-savings calculators and simple games that can be used directly within the conversation.

This changes the traditional way people interact with AI.

Previously, the basic experience was:

Question → AI answer → user reads the answer

With Intelligent UI, the experience can become:

Question → AI answer + interface → user interacts with the result

That difference could be important for students, creators, developers and businesses.

What is Intelligent UI?

OpenAI describes Intelligent UI as a system where GPT-6 can choose how information should be presented. A comparison could appear side by side, a complicated concept could be explained with an interactive diagram, and a calculation could become a usable tool.

OpenAI has built a library of native, streamable interface components and a compiler that processes the interface as the model generates it. This allows interfaces to appear progressively instead of waiting for an entire response to finish.

The goal is not to make every answer interactive. GPT-6 can still provide a normal text response when that is the most useful format. The important change is that the model can choose between different ways of presenting information.

Why creators should pay attention

For AI creators, this creates a new content opportunity.

Instead of making a Reel about another benchmark or model score, creators can demonstrate what GPT-6 actually builds.

For example:

“ChatGPT, create a monthly savings calculator for a student earning ₹20,000.”

Then show the generated interface and change the numbers on screen.

Other demonstrations could include:

  • Interactive study tools

  • Budget calculators

  • Business dashboards

  • Simple games

  • Visual learning diagrams

  • Interactive comparison tools

  • Planning interfaces

  • Data visualizations

These demonstrations are easy for viewers to understand because they show the difference between the old chatbot experience and the new interactive experience.

GPT-6 rollout

OpenAI says GPT-6 with Intelligent UI began rolling out globally to Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise users on October 7, 2026. The rollout expands to Free and Go users starting October 8. Enterprise availability can depend on workplace administrator settings.

OpenAI also says GPT-6 in ChatGPT is powered by GPT-6 Sol for Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise users, while Free and Go users receive GPT-6 Luna.

There is another important detail: this particular GPT-6 update applies to the Chat experience. OpenAI says the models powering Work and Codex are not changing as part of this release.

What this means for India

For Indian students, creators and small businesses, the interesting opportunity is not just having access to a more powerful model. It is being able to turn an idea into a useful interactive experience simply by describing what is needed.

A student could ask for an interactive learning tool. A creator could build a calculator for an Instagram audience. A small business could prototype a simple customer-facing utility before investing in a complete application.

This could reduce the gap between “I have an idea” and “I have a working interactive prototype.”

GPT-6 therefore represents a broader shift in the ChatGPT experience. AI is moving from simply generating answers toward creating experiences around those answers.

The bigger trend is simple:

AI doesn't just have to tell you what to do anymore. It can increasingly build something you can use while you're asking.

That makes Intelligent UI one of the most interesting parts of the GPT-6 rollout—not just another model upgrade, but a change in how people may interact with AI software.
